After Ireland, Norway, and Spain, Slovenia also recognizes Palestine

On Thursday, the Slovenian government approved a motion to recognize Palestine as a sovereign state and urged the parliament to follow suit.

Prime Minister Robert Golob announced that his government had submitted the recognition proposal to parliament, which may convene to discuss it as early as next week.

"All the world should act in the direction of peace," Golob stated following the government session. "The path to peace lies in a two-state solution."
